For this year’s GMA Gala, actress Beauty Gonzalez donned ancestral jewelry that are centuries old 

When it comes to red carpet ensembles, it is best to expect that the stars will also pull up wearing jewelry that gleams brighter under the lights. From diamonds, silvers, to golds, wearing such pieces never fails to elevate even the simplest of gowns at any event.

This time around, we are putting the spotlight on one actress because of her choice of jewels. It is her way of paying tribute and embracing the Filipino culture—a beautiful take on the elegant formal theme. For the GMA Gala 2023, Beauty Gonzales wore gold pieces that held more than fashion. 

We were able to squeeze in a quick chat with the actress herself where she shared to us the highlight of her look. It’s clear that Beauty was very hands on with everything involving her outfit because of her decision to wear a clean design to better feature the gold jewelry. 

She shared to us that the pieces are about 800 to 1,000 years old. The centuries-old pieces had excavated eye and mouth covers from distant places like Butuan and Siargao—all of which are reworked by Riqueza Jewellery. Since the treasured pieces are such statements, the actress decided to wear a corseted gown in nude, designed by Mara Chua. 

These pieces already made an appearance at the National Museum and Ayala Museum, and it greeted the outside world once again at the GMA Gala.
