Seiko unveils five new watches inspired by the richness of the Japanese identity
Seiko exemplifies the beauty of legacy. History is worn on the wrist, and the Presage Classic proudly showcases its heritage. This collection from the longtime timepiece maker focuses on the balance between Japanese artistry and mechanical watch craftsmanship. The Presage Classic carries this onwards with five new models that all bring the traditional beauty of Japan into the arms of Seiko’s trademark watchmaking expertise.

A Classic Timepiece
At the core of the new line, two dial types represent silk in different forms. Silk, being a hallmark of culture and history within Japan, is celebrated in these new watches as both lustrous and raw texture. The classic three-hand with date type forms its dial surface after the smoothness of lustrous silk fabric, whilst the 24-hour scale models remain inspired by the rawness of silk yarn.
The entire lineup comes gracefully with a selection of colors that all shine softly in classical tones. Shiro-Iro stands as the baseline with an unbleached natural fabric’s sheen. A dark brownish green Sensaicha and grayish black Sumi-Iro follow history with its roots in the Edo period and past garb of monks, respectively. Finally, Araigaki shares the sheen of a bleached persimmon.
A creation of Seiko would never be complete without the technical beauty of its parts, and the only recently introduced 6R movements complete this new Presage Classic collection. A 72-hour period of power ensures that nobody will have to worry about resetting their clock for three days straight. Convenience and precision mesh together.
