Guess Who? The Most Unrecognizable Attendees at CIRQUE: Shake, Rattle and Ball 2024
At CIRQUE, you wouldn’t recognize Tim Yap, Carlos Yulo, and Donny Pangilinan even at a second glance
This year, Tim Yap’s Shake, Rattle and Ball made its way to the CIRQUE; and legends, freaks and icons were all invited to celebrate Halloween. The attendees were definitely at the top of their game that night. From their colorful makeup looks down to the detail of their costumes, everyone had spectacular transformations, but here are the seven attendees that caught MEGA’s eye:

Aaron Maniego
He was simply the Queen of this year’s Shake, Rattle and Ball. With the Best Costume award, the artist donned a gorgeous, bejeweled white and red dress—a nod to the recognizable circus tent. With a headpiece full of cards and a glittering backdrop that framed Aaron like a veil reminiscent of those worn in festivals in the Philippines, he looked incredibly ethereal as the Queen of the Circus.
Tim Yap
The host himself was, of course, one of the most unrecognizable this year. At this year’s Shake, Rattle and Ball, Tim Yap took a trip down his Filipino childhood as the extraterrestrial, friendly creature Kokey. Complete with a chrome and yellow spacesuit, gloves, a mask, and even a spaceship, you would only recognize Yap when the mask was off!
Renz Pangilinan
Celebrity hairstylist Renz Pangilinan would drive anyone mad with his look this year. As fabulous as he is, he went above and beyond with his Mad Hatter costume. The hairstylist went for drama and flair, madder than Lewis Carroll’s Mad Hatter himself.
Carlos Yulo
You would think that Olympic champion and Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo would somersault his way to Cirque. On a night such as Halloween, the gymnast flipped the switch and channeled Chucky, the killer doll. With the crazy red wig, bloody makeup, and the colorful, striped crop top, Yulo went all in as Chucky. Matching his freak is his ever-supportive girlfriend Chloe dressed up as Chucky’s bride, Tiffany Valentine.
Ushi Sato
As a designer and stylist, Ushi Sato has never backed down from a challenge. This year, he attended the Cirque as hairy as possible. Inspired by Lionel the Lion-faced man whose entire body was covered in hair, the designer was almost unrecognizable with a thick, hairy mask that resembled a lion. He finished his costume with a sleek suit and leather gloves—classy and hairy!
Donny Pangilinan
Going for a classic Halloween look, actor Donny Pangilinan was committed to the painted green skin. With stitches around his head and a stylish suit, the actor paraded around the Cirque as Frankenstein’s monster, going for a menacing and just-rose-from-the-dead look.
Evan Tan

Actor Evan Tan gave another take on Lewis Carroll’s Mad Hatter, this time almost a mirror of the character in the 2010 film Alice in Wonderland. From the crazy red hair, the top hat, a colorful bowtie, and the makeup look, you wouldn’t recognize the actor underneath the madness that is the Hatter.
