Maxie is Crowned Drag Race Philippines’ Season 3 Winner
Maxie Andreison is the country’s newest Drag Superstar
The queens of the Philippines served a feast of pure joy and new queer cultural moments this season for Drag Race Philippines, tripling the confidence, glitz, and glamor than ever before. 11 fierce contestants showcased Pinoy drag excellence and fought for the title, cash prize, one-year supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics, and crown and scepter—only one reigned. Last night’s finale saw the top four queens Tita Baby, Angel, Khianna, and Maxie fight for their lives, and just in: Maxie was crowned the newest Philippines’ Drag Superstar.

A drag queen in Drag Race Philippines is often a hybrid persona: a designer, a creative, a performer, a model, a comedian, a host, a makeup artist—Maxie is that and many more. Country favorite, the queen was focused, confident, and ‘galvanized’ to snatch the crown With her stellar track record, Maxie was a sure finalist—she is the first local queen to win back-to-back judges and reach the finale without ever being in the bottom (she never had to lip sync battle to stay).
Maxie was one of the most well-known queens going into the season. She had competed on the second season of “Queen of the Universe” but left at fifth place due to medical reasons. In Drag Race Philippines, the new Pinay Drag Superstar went full-out and showcased her bedazzling creativity and diverse talents during her run. Like she said during the finale: “I’m a full-package queen.”
The last episode of Drag Race Philippines followed the latest iteration of the American version: in addition to a talent show, the top four queens were required to model three distinct runway looks: First Time’s a Charm (a reinterpretation of their first drag look), Art Attack Extravaganza (art-inspired drag), and Come in Your Best Drag (the queens’ best looks). Following her phenomenal looks, Maxie was the only queen who did a live performance—she is known to wow the audience with her powerful vocals and dynamic stage presence. Finally, it came down to the top two queens to lip sync for the crown and scepter: Khianna and Maxie gave an emotional performance to Angeline Quinto and Regine Velasquez’s Lipad ng Pangarap. Maxie brought sister and fellow finalist Angel to the stage during the battle.
Just as host and major judge Paolo Ballesteros hailed the third season’s cast as iconic and possibly the best local version to date, Maxie was crowned by last season’s winner Captivating Katkat. Maxie said, “To the younger generation, sa lahat ng drag queens, tutulungan ko kayo, pangako ‘yan dahil ang enteblado ay para sa ‘ting lahat. Sana marami pa akong ma-inspire, sana marami pa akong young queens na matulungan.”
It is said that the show filmed two separate crowning moments for Khianna and Maxie to keep the element of surprise. Watch Maxie’s reaction to winning here.
Maxie was also featured in MEGA’s September 2024 Artist Confidential story with makeup artist Iowani Unpingco.
