Wuthering Heights
Regardless of how this movie turns out, there’s little doubt Wuthering Heights is poised to be one of the most talked-about films of the year. And quite fittingly, it’s dropping just a few days before Valentine’s Day. This reimagining from Emerald Fennell stars Margot Robbie as Cathy and Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff, whose forbidden passion for one another turns from romantic to intoxicating in a tale of lust, love, and madness. Catch this in cinemas on February 11.

Hamnet
One of the award season’s hottest movies is finally getting a wide release in the Philippines. From director Chloé Zhao comes this powerful period drama that inspired the creation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Agnes and William Shakespeare are mourning the loss of their son, Hamnet. During this time, Agnes must navigate her grief and find the strength to move on and care for her other children. It will come exclusively to Ayala Malls Cinemas on February 18.
Crime 101
Featuring a stacked cast that includes Chris Hemsworth, Halle Berry, and Mark Ruffalo, this movie may just fill the crime-thriller hole for February. Davis is an elusive thief whose high-stakes heists have mystified police. He’s planning his biggest ever score — hoping it’ll be his last — when his path collides with Sharon, a disillusioned insurance executive whom he’s forced to work with, and Orman, a rival thief with far more disturbing methods than Davis’s.
As the multi-million dollar heist approaches, detective Lt. Lubesnik closes in on the operation, raising the stakes even higher, and the line between hunter and hunted starts to blur. Each of them is soon forced to confront the cost of their respective choices — and the realization that there’s no turning back. The movie will screen in local cinemas starting February 18.
Whistle
What happens when you give a group of young people a dangerous artifact that may lead to their deaths? You get this movie, which centers on a group of high school students who discover an ancient Aztec Death Whistle. When blown, the whistle summons their future deaths to hunt them, leading to what you probably expect will happen. Watch this in cinemas on February 18.
Scream 7
There’s no need to wait until Halloween for some silver screen scares with the latest entry in the Scream franchise that brings things back to basics. When a new Ghostface killer emerges in the quiet town where Sidney Prescott has built a new life, her darkest fears are realized as her daughter becomes the next target. Determined to protect her family, Sidney must face the horrors of her past to put an end to the bloodshed once and for all. The movie will slash its way onto local cinemas on February 25.
