This is How Women Finds Power in Movement

“Did you move?” This is a question that a good friend of mine often asks in an attempt to encourage us to be more active. This is also a question I haven’t asked myself for a while. And while I do find myself moving more often than before, it feels empowering to say: yes, I did move — not for pride or vanity, but for showing up for myself, even at times when I don’t want to show up. Many women shared this sentiment. That movement is not about speed, miles, and meters. It’s about being present with yourself.

Kerry Sports Manila embraced this ethos during Women’s Month by organizing their Wellness Lab Series, a two-day celebration focused on movement, strength, community, and empowerment.

The Wellness Lab Series did more than emphasize the power of movement; it invites guests to rediscover their reason for it. This became clear during the 7-Door Ashtanga Yoga session led by Coach Maan. Guests moved through a dynamic sequence that connected breath with motion, setting the tone for a grounded yet energizing start to the day.

The session followed a structured flow: from sun salutations and standing poses to seated series and closing sequences—allowing each participant to find her own pace and rhythm. Coach Maan also incorporated a community flow, encouraging guests to support one another through challenging core and balance work.

The endorphin high continued post-workout. Kerry Sports Manila treated attendees to a lineup of healthy breakfast bites, matcha drinks, and a custom mist courtesy of Luna and Omi.

Rest is just as important as movement. In partnership with VMV Hypoallergenics, Kerry Sports Manila hosted an intimate gathering of women to discuss skin health—highlighting longevity, intentional routines, and what truly matters when it comes to caring for it. CEO and Creative Director Laura Verallo de Bertotto, alongside Dr. CC Verallo-Rowell, emphasized how the skin reflects our inner workings. Real radiance, they shared, begins from within.

VMV Hypoallergenics concluded the talk with a thoughtful surprise: a spa experience featuring a relaxing facial, a recharging massage, and a lash pampering session courtesy of NEW Lounge.

Strength is power. And day two of the series made that clear. Kerry Sports Manila, in collaboration with Technogym, mounted a strength training session with Filipina boxer and two-time Olympic medalist Nesthy Petecio. In this session, the athlete delivered an inspiring, powerful message, reminding them that no matter how challenging the journey may be, resilience and discipline make every goal within reach.

Recovery after strength training matters just as much as the workout itself. Kerry Sports Manila, together with 2XU, hosted a full-body stretch session designed to ease muscle stiffness and support recovery after the intense training. Guests were also treated to an assortment of nourishing bites, including wellness offerings from Kim King Wellness.

While the Wellness Lab Series may have spanned only two days, Kerry Sports Manila continues its mission to empower women to find strength through movement. The only question left is: will you move?
