Recently, Ina Raymundo shared that Erika received her Bachelor of Music degree in Professional Music at the Berklee College of Music. The college is seen as one of the world’s best schools to learn music, and Erika can now call herself an alumnus after four years of honing her skills in various fields, from performing to production, songwriting, and more. Naturally, as her daughter’s biggest cheerleader, Ina was beaming like a proud mom seeing her eldest and firstborn daughter get her college degree.

”Congratulations, Erika! You made us very proud, and Dad couldn’t stop crying. Best Mother’s Day gift ever! Woohoo!” she wrote on a caption of an Instagram post, showing that she and her husband attended Erika’s graduation ceremony in Boston. The moment felt special not just because Erika completed college, but also since she didn’t have a proper in-person high school graduation ceremony due to the pandemic. Erika, like many in her generation, finally got a proper commencement ceremony to celebrate the milestone.
Adding to the special moment was how the graduation fell on Mother’s Day weekend, so the mother and daughter duo naturally commemorated the joyful weekend. “Celebrating post-graduation bliss and Mother’s Day with my firstborn. Can’t help but feel nostalgic. I had her at 25 and look at her now,” Ina shared on Instagram.

Music has always been a top passion for Erika. Over the years, she’s posted a handful of her performances and song covers on social media, covering artists like Adele, juan karlos, and Yeng Constantino. In 2020, she signed with Cornerstone Entertainment, while she and Jade Riccio, who also served as Erika’s music coach, co-wrote and released a song together in 2021 titled Stand Up.
She took her music dreams a step further when, in 2021, she was admitted to Berklee College of Music, news that her mom was more than happy to share. The fact that Erika applied for, got accepted to, and completed a four-year degree at a globally-recognized school for music shows just how seriously Erika treated it, not to mention her innate talent. Now that she’s fully done with her studies, we may just see Erika pursue a full-time career in music, whether that be as a recording artist, songwriter, producer, or whatever she decides to do next.
