The Interactions We Spotted at the 2026 Met Gala

It’s that time of the year again. The Super Bowl of the fashion world has arrived on the first Monday of May with the 2026 Met Gala. This year, The Metropolitan Museum of Art is featuring its latest spring exhibit, “Costume Art”, with the Met Gala’s dress code theme being “Fashion is Art”. This allows guests from the worlds of fashion, entertainment, sports, and more to interpret their take on fashion as an art form.

That meant the steps and the halls of The MET Museum were filled with outfits inspired by classic paintings and artworks. And all that star power in one place also comes with interactions and moments that had us doing a double-take for all the right reasons. As a global gathering of fashion, art, and pop culture, the Met Gala didn’t disappoint with the highlights that had people talking. From K-pop taking over the carpet to first-time attendees making a great first impression, these moments demonstrate that the Met Gala is many things, but never boring.

BLACKPINK in Your Area

For years, the ladies of BLACKPINK have been a familiar presence at the Met Gala. But this year, all four members finally attended the event at the same time, as Jennie, Lisa, and Rose were joined by Jisoo, who attended the Met Gala for the first time. It’s better to go to a gala with friends than alone, after all.

Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie Heat Things Up

As the breakout stars that they are, many expected Heated Rivalry stars Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie to be at the Met Gala. And that’s exactly what they did with the duo’s first time attending the major event in skin-bearing outfits, with the former in Balenciaga and the latter in Saint Laurent. And if you’re wondering, they did meet up inside the museum.

Beyoncé and Nicole Kidman Have Their Own Mother-Daughter Date

It’s one thing to go to the Met Gala. But to do it side-by-side with your daughter is on a whole other level, which was the case for a couple of A-list stars who were joined by their daughters on the white and green carpet. Namely, co-chairs BeyoncĂ© and Nicole Kidman walked the carpet with their daughters, Blue Ivy and Sunday Rose, respectively. The moment feels even more fitting given that Mother’s Day is just right around the corner.

An aespa Moment

Given K-pop’s place and influence in fashion, it’s not surprising to see K-pop stars invited to the Met Gala. This year, 2 out of 4 members of the girl group aespa added to the K-pop star power. For their Met Gala debut, Karina wore a white Prada gown inspired by the Korean hanbok, and newly-named Gucci ambassador Ningning stepped out in the luxury label.

Hello to the It-Girls

Three models pose on a fashion show runway; left in a silver sequin strapless dress, center in a black structured gown, right in a multicolor dragon-pattern sequin dress.

We don’t know what we love more, the fact that we have a Jennie Kim and Hoyeon reunion or that certified K-pop fan and first-time Met Gala attendee Chase Infiniti is living her dream right now.

Eileen Gu and Her Bubbles

The Met Gala has always been the place to go out of the box with fashion. Case in point: Olympic athlete Eileen Gu and her plus one: bubbles. The decorated Olympian wore an Iris van Herpen ‘Airo’ dress done in collaboration with A.A.Murakami that was made out of 15,000 hand-formed glass bubbles and, impressively, also released bubbles thanks to a machine built in the dress. This is how you do a Met Gala-approved bubble dress.

Katy Perry Strikes a Pose With Connor Storrie

Two models pose for photos: a woman in a white strapless gown wearing a futuristic perforated helmet with a reflective visor, beside a man in a black suit with a dotted shirt and a floral brooch.
A person in a white off‑the‑shoulder gown and long gloves wears a shiny, mirrored mesh mask beside another person in a black suit who covers their face with a hand.

When people talk about unexpected crossovers, this is what they’re referring to. Just a few months ago, this interaction wouldn’t have been possible, but what we love more is how Connor is covering his face to mimic Katy’s mask.

Stevie Knicks and Sabrina Carpenter Take Us Down a Landslide

Individually, Stevie Nicks and Sabrina Carpenter are impressive performers. In fact, both served as the evening’s entertainment. But together? Now that’s a moment, one they gave us when they came together during the Met Gala program in a star team up to deliver a moving duet performance of Landslide by Fleetwood Mac.

Hudson Williams With LISA

Hudson Williams has been collecting his fellow Asian stars like Infinity Stones. So, it really was only a matter of time before we’d see him in the same frame as a member of BLACKPINK.

Another year, another iconic selfie from the Met Gala ladies’ restroom. This one is courtesy of model Bhavitha Mandava and features the BLACKPINK members, Gracie Abrams, Ayo Edebiri, and more.
