MEGA Anniversary Party Highlights

Here’s how MEGA celebrates grand change for its 32nd year as the country’s best and biggest fashion magazine

Three decades after its conception, MEGA embraces change like no other. Heart Evangelista, the muse of the February issue, blends into the surrealist world with the creations of Filipino designers. The masthead pays homage to the fashion houses that stood the test of time. With the magazine’s visual transformation, its literal change took place with a bigger, physical issue. And in its 32nd anniversary, the transformation of the best fashion magazine is deserving of festivity. With that, here’s how MEGA celebrated fun, flair, and fashion.

Creatives, celebrities, designers, models, and personalities graced the occasion in exaggerated details of bows, ruffles, and skirts. Fashion is the DNA that runs through the pages of the magazine, impacting the past, present, and future generations.

Pillars of the print pages

Ushering the next chapter of MEGA, Editor-in-Chief Peewee Reyes-Isidro welcomed the guests with her opening remarks, underscoring MEGA’s relentless pursuit to evolve in the light of constant change of content creation. “To exist and continue to be relevant is not an easy feat anyone can claim,” she began. “While this foundation remains, it also sees the need to adapt and recognize changes in both the fashion and cultural landscapes. It will continue to evolve with its readers and be a reflection of the times.”

Concluding her speech, she gave the floor to Creative Chief Patrick Ty, who made his comeback to the title. “This is actually quite a homecoming,” he started. “Whether in 1995, 2005, 2015, or today, each of our pages has always been a reflection of the best of Philippine fashion: a chronicle of industry triumphs, but more importantly, as the Filipino creative’s platform to show the greatness of his talent, the strength of his vision and the scale of his abilities.”

Uplifting both the creatives and the audience, Ty stresses, “MEGA is the voice of an  industry. We owe our existence to you— because as members and supporters of an industry, you have stories that we are able to share and to imagine. Our pages are crafted with your stories in mind and for this, we thank you.”
