On its 12th year, Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week established that the city’s fashion sector is anything but ordinary. With designers unleashing their inner superstars and edgy, seductive aesthetics, the runway was an eclectic collection of ingenuity and original ideas. Uzair Shoid
Uzair Shoid concentrated his collection on the importance of imagination and innovation in sustainable fashion. His designs demonstrated his talent for fabric manipulation and the combination of traditional patterns like songket and brocade with contemporary forms.
MILKSHAKE
MILKSHAKE encourages her clients to tap into their inner superstar. The collection included large accessories and vivid designs that were intended to stand out like a shining star. Bold and unapologetic, it’s the supreme expression of high-energy fashion.
What to Wear
Fashion brand What to Wear launched its City & Dream collection, featuring fitted suits, pleated and geometric shirts, and sheer dresses. Designed for sophisticated women who can navigate a fast-moving city from day to night without breaking a sweat (or a heel), this collection is where chicness hooks up with metropolitan practicality.
Akudesign
How do we appreciate the things around us? The brothers and designers of Akudesign emphasized the city’s rawness, imperfections, and subcultures. Its collection, fittingly called Behind the Block, highlights the neat solid, and sharp, as well as the dirtiness, and, like exploring a city, its style takes on an architectural and pattern-heavy appearance that finds itself more than to be found.
Corak
Corak is most known for his prints, which capitalize on references from everyday situations and are fueled by art, music, and contemporary culture. The Land of the Rising Sun collection featured motifs, such as sumo wrestlers and tigers, on silk sets suitable for tropical climates. Heavily inspired by American sportswear but tweaked into a sophisticated, edgy biker aesthetic due to recent political events, Andy Bandy’s collection fused elements of party wear and sportswear together. “Sexy, sexy, sexy” was his mantra, with harness-inspired tops, see-through fabrics, and daring cut-outs on full display. Think sports bar meets nightclub, and you’ll get the idea.

As the premier fashion retail and leisure specialist, the Melium Group went above and beyond to display their best products. Farah Khan debuted her latest couture line first, followed by ready-to-wear collections from Elisabetta Franchi, Boggi Milano, Piquadro, Alice + Olivia, Alo, and MCM Worldwide.
