How to Join the MEGA Correspondents Program
Looking to break into the fashion industry? MEGA has the program for aspiring fashion creatives
You’ve heard the adage—everyone has to start somewhere. An essential rite of passage, the fashion or editorial internship offers a helpful introduction into the workings of a company seldom seen from the outside. If you’re a budding writer, photographer, stylist, or communication designer looking to work in fashion media, MEGA’s internship program—the MEGA Correspondents—could be your starting point.
Who are the MEGA Correspondents?
MEGA Magazine, the leading fashion authority in the Philippines, is on the hunt for keen aspiring fashion creatives hungry to enter the notoriously tough-to-break-into world of fashion media. The MEGA Correspondents is a cohort of mentees, spanning the disciplines of fashion and culture writing; fashion, reportage, and portrait photography and videography; fashion styling; and communication design, who will contribute to MEGA’s website under the mentorship of its editors for one year.
What Will the MEGA Correspondents Do?
The successful candidates will receive meaningful firsthand knowledge and experience; correspondents are expected to produce at least four content materials per month (once a week) that may include photos, videos, articles, or other multimedia formats for the MEGA website. They will either work individually or collaboratively, depending on the project’s needs.
What is MEGA Looking For?
On top of a great work ethic and an interest in the industry, there are a few skills that will separate you from the rest of the pack. Here’s what MEGA is looking for:
You have:

- Flair for Creativity (25%): The ability to present fresh and unique ideas in their chosen medium of content creation that align with MEGA’s style and vision.
- Distinct Voice (50%): The capability to tell engaging and meaningful stories, whether through words, visuals, or a combination of both, that resonate with MEGA’s audience.
You must be:
The MEGA Correspondent is at least 16 and above, residing in the Philippines and with no ongoing commitments with other competing fashion, beauty, and lifestyle publications.
You’ll gain:
- Direct mentorship from the MEGA Editors;
- Opportunity to contribute to the MEGA July 2025 print issue;
- Monthly contributions to the MEGAStyle website tab; and
- PR and event opportunities for networking and work experience
How to Apply?
All requirements must be submitted by November 23, 2024. These include:
- Complete personal information via Google Form application, which must include a résumé, portfolio, and responses to three questions. (The portfolio must showcase previous work; all creative endeavors are welcome);
- TikTok video entry tagging the MEGA account with the hashtags #MEGACorrespondent and #MEGAMagazine. The video, no longer than one minute, must answer the question: “Why should you be selected as a MEGA Correspondent?” and must feature you speaking. It may include examples of your work;
- For MMA and junior stylist applicants: a portfolio of your work; and
- For writer applicants: two writing samples with at least 500 words each.
MEGA will extend the search during the campus tour, where students can apply and submit their requirements in person. Students are subject to the same application process.
Which Dates Should You Watch Out For?
November 25-26: Internal deliberations of the MEGA Editorial Team
November 26: A final skills test for the Top 20 (if needed)
