Her Acting Debut in The White Lotus

As one of HBO’s most talked-about shows today, The White Lotus has built a reputation for assembling a star-studded cast for each new season. And for the show’s third season, which is set in Thailand and aired in 2025, the series made waves when they announced that Lisa was joining the cast. In terms of making your acting debut in Hollywood, joining a prestige drama was a major move for Lisa.
In it, she played Mook, an employee of the fictional White Lotus Thailand luxury resort. While her screentime wasn’t much, Lisa still made the most out of her supporting role while showcasing her culture, especially when it came to the sweet subplot of Mook and security guard Gaitok’s developing feelings for each other in the middle of season three’s wild storylines. Her work was also recognized as she received a nomination in the Actor Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, becoming the first K-pop idol to do so.
Her Appearance at the Golden Globes

Aside from acting, Lisa has also been growing her name in Hollywood with appearances at major award shows, especially in the past year. In 2025, Lisa notably attended and performed at the 97th Academy Awards, making history as the first K-pop idol to do so, where she performed a James Bond medley alongside RAYE and Doja Cat. She later attended the 2025 Emmys as part of The White Lotus cast. Most recently, Lisa made her Golden Globes debut when she went to the 83rd Golden Globe Awards. And she didn’t just attend, but also presented an award during the show, namely Best Actor – Television Series Drama, with Priyanka Chopra.
Her Growing Resume of Film Roles

Beyond new music, another thing we can look forward to from Lisa in the coming couple of years is her movies. Firstly, there is a documentary in the work from Sony Music Vision and director Sue Kim that follows Lisa as she embarks on her solo career and prepares for the release of her debut solo album.
Next, Lisa’s first big film project will be in the action movie Tygo. The action-thriller is set in the universe of Netflix’s popular Extraction film franchise and will follow Tygo, a former child-soldier-turned-mercenary who goes on a revenge mission through the Korean criminal underworld after a job goes sideways. Joining Lisa in her movie acting debut are Don Lee and Lee Jin-uk.
Finally, it was also announced that Lisa would be entering the rom-com genre as she’s slated to star in a romantic comedy from Netflix. The movie is produced by David Bernad, who is also the executive producer of The White Lotus, and is being written by Katie Silberman, who wrote arguably one of Netflix’s best rom-coms, Set It Up, and co-wrote the well-received Booksmart. Plot details haven’t yet been revealed as of this writing, but it is reported to be inspired by Notting Hill. Does this mean we will see Lisa play a popstar who has a meet-cute with a shop owner? We’ll have to wait and see, but the talent behind the project already has us excited.
