All the Filipino Designers BINI Wore for Coachella 2026

History has been made for P-pop as BINI became the first Filipino girl group to grace the Coachella stage. Across two unforgettable weekends, the girls proudly shone in custom looks by Filipino designers. Visual director Ica Villanueva collaborated with the Philippines’ finest creative forces—such as Marian Zara, Job Dacon, Raf Villas, Renan Pacson, and Arnel Papa—to highlight Filipino culture and ingenuity at its best.

Ahead are their creations.

Weekend 1

Marian Zara & Job Dacon

The opening looks paid tribute to the vast beauty of the ocean through golden warrior ensembles that radiated strength and heritage. Marian Zara led the overall design, while Job Dacon poured his expertise into the finer details. Planning started as early as December, with fittings taking place in March, giving the team four full months to build every piece entirely by hand.

Nine women in metallic gold outfits posing on an orange rocky beach by calm water.

Each outfit carried 20 to 25 sheets of real gold leaf and about two pounds of recycled plastic per member. The plastic was carefully melted, shaped into custom molds, and gilded one by one—a step Dacon called the most demanding part of the entire process. Delicate filigree patterns drew inspiration from calado, the traditional pierced latticework found in Filipino ancestral homes that allows light and air to flow freely. Seashell accents came from molds created using scallops native to Bantayan Island in Cebu.

“The most important thing I want to let the Coachella crowd know is that our ingenuity and resourcefulness amidst disasters and crises are unparalleled,” Dacon shared with MEGA. “We created these golden details to showcase everlasting endurance and resilience of the Filipino people. From the use of endemic shellfish all through the calado embellishments tell a story of strength, boldness, and unmatched beauty.”

Raf Villas

Group of nine women in turquoise matching outfits posing on a rocky beach with cliffs and sea in the background, sunset lighting and water at their feet.

As the performance progressed, BINI transformed into teal siren looks during “Zero Pressure,” designed by Raf Villas. These pieces captured the fluid movement of the sea with braided threads, flowing fringe, and delicate beadwork. The designer also wove in references to the banig (traditional Filipino mat).

Renan Pacson

Renan Pacson took charge of the full set BINI wore during their guest appearance alongside flowerovlove. He aimed for a lighthearted, carefree festival energy while staying true to a sunny tropical identity. Drawing from early 2000s music festival memories and his own Y2K-era experiences, Pacson made sure every member’s outfit reflected her unique personality while keeping his designs connected to home.

Arnel Papa

Woman in a blue bikini posing against a sunlit rocky coastal wall by the sea at sunset, arm raised above head.

Completing the sea-inspired weekend, Arnel Papa’s pearl accessories added the finishing touch to BINI’s Coachella debut.

Weekend 2

Marian Zara

Group of performers in futuristic, glittery outfits with silver knee-high boots posing in a bright studio.

For the second weekend, BINI grounded their presence in the richness and power of the land. Zara designed custom, edgier ensembles with denim cutouts and metallic textures, guided by Ica Villanueva’s vision of mixing deep heritage with forward-looking style.

Nine women in shimmering lavender outfits and metallic silver boots pose together in a bright studio. They wear coordinated pink–purple costumes with knee-high silver boots, forming a group portrait about unity and style.

And for the final look of BINI, Zara once again worked on the girls’ lilac-colored metallic outfits, this time incorporating Villas’ custom Y2K flowers.

“I think the goal here is to make the audience feel that Filipino design isn’t just emerging, but already world-class. The level of detail—handwork, embellishment, structure—kaya na natin makipag-sabayan,” Zara said. “At the same time, it was important to highlight the people behind the looks—the designers, embroiderers, sewers, and craftspeople who don’t always get this kind of visibility. Hopefully when people remember BINI, their music and their world class performance at Coachella, they would also remember that Filipino craftsmanship can be globally influential as well.”
